The Daisy Cutter owes its name to a bomb, which should tell you something about the sound. This 14 x 6.5-inch 'weapon' is especially effective when you play rimshots.
Mapex Armory Daisy Cutter 14 x 6.5-inch snare-drum: hammered steel
The shell of the Mapex Armory Daisy Cutter is made of 1mm thick hammered steel, and it's fitted with 2.3mm Power Hoops and chrome hardware. The 45-degree bearing edge ensures great sustain and resonance, while the consistent tuning of the snare is thanks to the Armory tube lugs, that also provide extra stability for the shell. Besides that, these carefully crafted tube lugs also add to the Daisy Cutter's elegant and modern appearance.
The Piston strainer and vertical throw-off of this 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum are quick and easy to use and ensure that the tension on the snare wires stays as consistent as possible.

Heerlijke snare dit! vond met de originele vellen de overtonen een beetje te, maar nu met andere de genera dry van Evans is dit helemaal naar mijn smaak!
naast de looks die gewoon waanzinnig zijn voelt de snare extreem degelijk en goed gebouwd aan.

Ik vond geen enkele winkel in België de deze snare verkocht (de andere Armory-snares vaak wel). Maar omdat ik enkel fantastische commentaren las over de snare heb ik hem toch besteld. Ik moet eerlijk zijn: WAAN-ZIN-NIG! Zelden een snare gehoord die luid, strak, droog en toch heerlijk klinkt. Dan bedoel ik natuurlijk snares uit dezelfde prijscategorie. Maar hij kan zeker met gemak op tegen snares die misschien wel meer dan dubbel zo duur zijn! Een echte aanrader!
