Meinl already offer a hugely impressive and all-encompassing range of cajons, but the Artisan Edition Series undoubtedly includes the most striking and high-quality models, each made by hand in Spain. Next to a sumptuous finish, these premium cajons produce detailled, Meinl-grade sound, giving discerningly demanding percussionists exactly what they'd expect.
The Meinl Artisan Edition Soleá Ebony Burst
To build this Artisan Edition model, Meinl used nine plies of Baltic birch that amount to a 12mm thickness and fitted a total of eight pre-tuned snare wires divided into two sets of four. Meinl installed the snares according to the style of master-builder, José 'Pepote' Hernández Diaz, before fitting a special bass-reflex system to enrich the low-end. The end result is a warm and bright, rich and punchy cajon sound.
