This hyper-compact combo amplifier takes one step up from the ever-popular Boss Cube amp series, so just like its older siblings, it offers a mass of options alongside a portable design, and thanks to a broad array of connection options, this amp is easily integrated into any rig or home studio.
The Boss Dual Cube LX Guitar Amplifier
The Dual Cube LX delivers a home-rehearsal-friendly output of 10 Watts - that's 5 Watts per speaker to conjure wide stereo sound. The neat housing features eight newly-developed guitar amp emulations plus a microphone preamp, opening up a massive range of possible sounds: from an acoustic guitar simulation to brutal distortion. Pack your sound with extra depth using the three-band EQ controls and the stack of seven built-in effects and tweak the many parameters at will via the Dual Cube LX Editor app.
Settings & Connections
Focussed on smooth ease-of-use, once you've settled on your favourite amp and effect settings, they can be saved to one of the twenty-seven save slots provided (three for each amp type) to be called up later. The connection options are also expansive, including a USB port for direct recording and live-streaming; a stereo line-output complete with miked-up cabinet emulation; and an i-CUBE Link/Aux jack input for audio playback. A compatible port for a BT-Dual Bluetooth®Audio MIDI Dual Adapter (not included) has also been fitted, and for wireless control over the volume level and intensity of the on-board wah effect, this amp is also compatible with the EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal (not included).

Prima versterkertje. Een 2x4 is geen 4x12 maar de sound zit van de gesimuleerde versterkers (Roland,Fender,Marshall,Peavey en Mesa Boogie) in. De effecten zijn zeer goed (Boss kwaliteit) en allen bruikbaar. Met usb of app (opt. module) zijn instellingen (uitgebreid) aan te passen en op te slaan (3 presets per amp). Favoriet zijn JC met chorus, Tweed met phaser en Marshall/Peavey met octaver.
Aanvulling op mijn vorige review: wat wel een beetje teleurstellend is dat Boss de Bluetooth-module op de Dual Cune LX als accessoire levert tegen €49,- terwijl dit op veel moderne modellingversterkers standaard aanwezig is.....
Prima versterker. Versterker-geluiden zijn goed bruikbaar en de effecten zijn typisch Boss-kwaliteit. Wil je echter de gitaargeluiden echt goed fine-tunen, dan heb je de software nodig. Deze biedt met name meer mogelijkheden om EQ toe te passen. Hiervoor moet je wel even de tijd nemen maar werkt prima. Daarnaast heeft het apparaat veel mogelijkheden, aansluitingen en zelfs een (korte) looper. Het enige wat me wat tegenvalt is de slechte aarding van het apparaat. Bij sommige van mijn gitaren (van professionele kwaliteit, zoals een PRS USA) bromt de versterker behoorlijk bij flink wat gain. Je kunt dit deels onderdrukken met de Noise Gate maar dan is een groot deel van je sustain weg. Niettemin een fijn ding.

Mooi ding! Cleane kanalen gaan goed met diverse pedalen. Formaat mooi klein, fijn dat ie ook op batterijen kan. Misschien is ie meer voor thuis bedoeld of in een studio voor opnames, maar kan ook optreden via PA via de line-out... dus mogelijkheden genoeg, klinkt uitstekend!
