There's a good reason why Akai's MPD lineup has such a huge following: its outstanding concept. These controllers are perfect for beat makers and producers who prefer the old MPC workflow. However, Akai is one of those companies that feels there's always room for improvement. They spent six years developing this new edition of the MPD232 USB/MIDI controller, and the result speaks for itself. This controller is a perfect partner for producers, beat makers, musicians and DJs. Filled with buttons, pads, sliders and knobs, its control panel has an overall professional look.
Characteristics of the Akai MPD232
The MPD232's sixteen thick pads are backlit and sensitive to both velocity and pressure, making them perfect for creating grooves. Eight sliders, knobs and buttons are also at your disposal, as well as a channel strip. As they support various banks, that amounts to a much higher number of controls than a brief glance at the panel suggests. A large display keeps you informed, and helps you out while you adjust your settings. Unlike the MPD32, the MPD232 is equipped with a step sequencer, providing you with even more options. With a maximum of 32 steps and 64 channels, you have plenty of tools for banging productions.

Na advies te hebben ingewonnen heb ik dit mooie apparaat aangeschaft met als doel mijn gemaakte muziek in Reason 11 eenvoudig te bewerken, met name op het gebied van faders en effecten ipv dit steeds per effect met de muis in te moeten stellen. Wat werkt dit goed zeg! Kwaliteit is top, instellen koste nog geen 5 minuten (want ik ben niet zo'n type die zijn eigen presets wilt mappen.. het moet makkelijk ;-)) en dat is wat dit apparaat voor mij doet. Erg blij mee! Knoppen en faders voelen solide aan, Drumpads zijn geweldig.. en hebben een hoge sensitifiteitsfactor die ik vooral ga gebruiken voor vocal sampling. Overigens, de software van het apparaat gebruik ik niet, dus daar heb ik geen mening over. Met Reason is het plug en play en op het apparaat zelf hoef ik alleen maar Reason te selecteren als preset en ready to groove..
Doet zijn werk goed. De software van het apparaat zelf is een beetje lastig alleen soms
