This Fender Malibu CE is what you get when you combine the looks and specs of the Fender Redondo with the size of the Fender Malibu SCE. It's an electro-acoustic folk/western guitar with a compact dreadnought body and a comfortable Stratocaster-style neck. The Malibu CE is part of Fender's California series and has that characteristic '60s surf look. This guitar has a cutaway, that makes it easier to reach the highest frets, as well as a built-in Fishman pickup system.
Features of the Fender Malibu CE
The smaller dreadnought body of the Malibu CE is made of laminated mahogany with a laminated spruce top. The Malibu CE has a maple neck, just like a Stratocaster, and a 20-fret rosewood fretboard. This combination of wood types guarantees a rich sound with punchy trebles. The neck of the Fender Malibu CE has a comfortable C-profile that gives it almost the same feel as an electric guitar. Additionally, it has a factory-mounted second strap button on the side of the body, just above the neck, that allows you to play it while standing up.
Finish and Fishman Electronics
The Malibu CE has the same gold-coloured pickguard and vintage-style Fender Viking bridge and its sound hole is decorated with a beautiful chequered rosette. To improve the tone and tuning stability, Fender equipped this guitar with Graphtech NuBone string nut and bridge saddle. The Malibu CE's Fishman Isys III pickup system comprises an active preamp with volume control and 3-band equalizer to create that perfect sound. Finally, the guitar's practical built-in tuner helps you to keep it in excellent tuning.

Prima gitaar voor een prima prijs. Klank is goed, zowel versterkt als onversterkt.
De tuners zijn spelingvrij en lopen soepel, de gitaar was goed afgesteld: zowel de action als de hals waren spot-on. Al met al een aanrader.

Wat een service!
Om 15:30 besteld en 24:00 uur later in huis. Goed stevig ingepakt, prachtige gitaar voor een goede prijs. Hij klinkt mooi warm en ik ben ook helemaal weg van de gouden slagplaat. Klankkast ook niet te groot en speelt lekker weg door de relatief smalle hals.
Ik geef bax-shop een dikke 10 voor de service, kwaliteit van de gitaar en prijs!
