Mapex Black Panther snare drum Sledgehammer

Together with a number of international endorsers, the specialists at Mapex have created a line of Black Panther snare drums, with the intention of giving each individual drum a completely distinct personality. It shouldn't be too hard to guess what kind of snare drum the Sledgehammer is.

Tough

The 1.2mm thick brass shell is hand-hammered and has a tough look. The dents in the shell are quite sizeable, giving the sound a bit more complexity, while the dark, almost antique-looking colour enhances this drum's impressive looks.

Mace

Some situations require special measures. This Sledgehammer allows you to bash your way through the wall of sound, as if it were a mace. Loud! That would be an appropriate description of this snare drum. It probably isn't the ideal drum for the drummer in a jazz combo that has to play at a dinner party, but it's the perfect snare if you need to compete with your colleagues in a louder setting.
