Gibson Original Collection Les Paul Standard Faded 50s Satin Honeyburst Electric Guitar with Case
General
Plucked out of the '50s and firmly planted in the present, the Gibson Original Collection Les Paul Faded 50s single-cut boasts an old-school neck profile and a pair of Burstbucker pickups. To offer you that authentic '50s playing feel, the mahogany body has been solidly glued to the slim Vintage 50s mahogany neck, which has been finished with a 12"-radius rosewood fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets to support breakneck speed licks.
The Les Paul Faded '50s: Burstbucker Pickups
As expected, Gibson have gone for a maple top which lends the acoustic sound not only a touch of sonic warmth but a mid-rich sound with just enough definition. Loaded with two open-coil Burstbucker pickups - where the 1-version in the bridge position shapes a rock-ready sound with rough edges while the 2-version at the neck sounds a touch sweeter - the Les Paul Standard Faded 50s has been fully prepared to deliver that beefy, '50s-style humbucker sound fleshed out with extra trebles.
Traditional High-Quality Hardware
This Gibson LP solid-body has also been equipped with four time-tested audio taper potentiometers with Orange Drop capacitors backing up the double volume and tone pots, while high-quality hardware in the form an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, an Aluminum Stop Bar and six Vintage Deluxe Keystone tuners are there to make sure the guitar won't fall out of tune easily. As a welcome bonus, this Original Collection model comes wrapped up inside a Gibson-made hardshell case as standard.

A really nice Les Paul and great value. I've tried a number of Les Pauls recently including classics and standards. No single Les Paul is perfect and there are always compromises in the finish but this guitar is the best I've seen. I really like the satin finish, it means you don't have that annoying chalky build up on your hands from glossy nitro. It has a lovely resonance and the burstbuckers sound superb for everything from blue to metal. If I was being slightly picky I would like the rosewood to be slightly darker but I'm sure that will come with time and some lemon oil. Highly recommended!
