Yvette Young is one of those next-gen guitarists that has been able to carve out a style of her very own - framed in part by her use of tapping techniques and a flowing style. Working alongside axe-giants, Ibanez, this guitar upstart introduces her very own signature model: the Ibanez YY10-SGS. The alder body has been given an insanely comfortable Talman body before being mercilessly drenched in a fresh coat of Slime Green Sparkle.

The YY10-SGS with Seymour Duncans

Young has mounted her model with a three-strong dream-team of Seymour Duncan Five Two pickups. These single-coils are driven by alnico 2 and 5 magnets that are able to maintain that delicate balance in the high-end while keeping the bass tight. The YY10 is also home to a Wilkinson WV6-SB tremolo bridge that makes use of an innovative '5+1' hole mounting method that raises the tuning stability way above that of comparable vintage-style examples.

An Eye for Detail

Another detail that strays away from the beaten path is that this guitar comes pre-loaded with a set of D’Addario EXL116 .011-.052 gauge strings that are meant to be tuned to F-A-C-G-B-E. This deviating tuning is, like this guitar, honed for experimentation. If you do want to swap out the strings, then the highly practical Gotoh MG-T locking tuners will make the process as smooth as butter itself. It's also worth mentioning the endlessly helpful luminescent side-dots found lining the neck.
