Fifty years ago, Yamaha introduced their very first steel-string guitars, which were part of the brand's original FG series. Over the years, Yamaha haven't made any huge changes to these successful guitars, since they were an instant success from the start. They have however made some modern enhancements including scalloped bracing for more projection in the bass and mid tones. The FG800 is the entry-level model of the 800 range.

Power and warmth

Even though the FG800 is an entry-level model, it can produce an impressive sound. A striking detail is the solid spruce top, which results in a warm sound with plenty of sustain that only gets better with age, and the slender neck is more comfortable to play than ever.
