The sE Electronics ProMic Laser is an affordable shotgun microphone with a robust design and great sound. It has a durable aluminium housing and is light of weight. Thanks to this light weight, you will hardly feel the ProMic Laser mounted on your DSLR or video camera. Also, the accessory shockmount with camera mount lets you mount it instantly. At the rear you will find a 3.5mm jack connector that allows for a direct connection, via the accessory coiled cable, to the microphone input of the camera.
Audio of the ProMic Laser
The microphones in a camera are usually not of the highest quality and therefore your recordings might be marred by noise and overdriving. In short, you are filming in HD, but the sound lags behind! The electret capsule of the ProMic Laser is highly sensitive and features low self noise, so that the shotgun will record the environmental sound beautifully. When you're filming in a noisy environment, you can attenuate the recording level with 10 dB via the pad switch. Furthermore, the ProMic Laser features a low-cut switch.
Flat frequency response and power
Compared to competitors in its price range, the Laser has an exceptionally flat frequency response, which ensures that the environmental sound is registered accurately. Like any other shotgun, the sE Electronics ProMic Laser needs power to work. This is provided with a single AA battery.

Handig en divers. Kan een beetje EQ gebruiken want is soms wat schel maar heel goed corrigeerbaar. Ik gebruik hem overal voor. op mijn Lumix camera, als overhead op een statief, zelfs met een verlengkabel als interview microfoon. Voor deze prijs heb je geen excuus meer om geen goed geluid onder je DSLR filmpje te hebben.
Vele weten hoe ideaal het kan zijn om te filmen met een dSLR. Echter.. het geluid blijft vaak achter. In het verleden zuilde ik daarom een zwaar metalen blok onder mijn camera mee waarop ik diverse microfoons aan kon sluiten. Echter, vorige week werd ik dit zat. Daarom heb ik toen direct deze SE Mic gekocht. Waarom? Ik vertrouw SE en deze microfoon biedt de mogelijkheid om eventueel losgekoppeld te worden van de dSLR voor een vraaggesprek. Kwaliteit van het geluid is super. Zeker voor dit geld. Heb hem buiten GeneralNoise en interview tevens gebruikt om VoiceOver op locatie op te nemen. Ik ben meer dan content! Kleeeeein zeur puntje: er wordt standaard niet de benodigde AAA batterij bijgeleverd..
Bon micro pour le prix, incomparablement mieux que le micro intégré de mon caméscope. Attention, si comme moi vous avez un appareil de marque Canon avec mini-advanced shoe, vous aurez besoin d'acheter ailleurs un adaptateur JJC MSA-1 pour fixer votre micro sur le caméscope ou DSLR ( je vous conseille "Camera Led", le moins cher).
