Built for the stage, the Lewitt MTP W950 large-diaphragm condenser microphone combines the robustness of a dynamic microphone with the silky trebles of a studio microphone. In fact, this is the same microphone that none-other-than Stevie Wonder uses. With this model, you can even flip between cardioid and super-cardioid mode, allowing you to change the pickup pattern depending on the stage set-up. In cardioid mode, the MTP W950 blocks out 90% of the sound coming from behind, which is great when you've got a floor monitor blasting sound directly at you. In super-cardioid mode, the microphone picks up less sound from the sides, which can help keep crosstalk to a minimum. Lewitt have also integrated a low-pass filter and a -12dB PAD so you can rein in the low frequencies or dial back the sensitivity to give loud vocals a little more room. Conveniently, the fitted W9 mic capsule is compatible with wireless systems by Shure, Sony and various other big names.
