The Røde RODELink Newsshooter Kit is part of the RODELink series, which consists of a variety of wireless mic systems. This Newsshooter Kit is particularly handy because it allows you to connect the XLR transmitter directly to the XLR output of a microphone of your choice. This includes a condenser microphone, seeing as the transmitter is capable of providing 48-volt phantom power. Incidentally, the TX-XLR transmitter is also equipped with a mini jack input. Pairing these devices is a breeze with the included RX-CAM receiver that connects with the camera.

RODELink Newsshooter Kit: Transmitter and receiver

Both the transmitter and the receiver can be powered by two AA batteries each. Other power options include micro USB for a continuous power supply, or - in the case of the TX-XLR transmitter - a Sony NP-F battery. With a mere push of a button, the system will search for an available frequency (you can use 8 RODELink sets simultaneously) so you can connect the transmitter and the receiver with one another. The receiver can easily be mounted to the camera via the hot shoe, screwed onto a 3/8" stand, or clipped to your belt.

The Newsshooter Kit boasts good sound quality because it doesn't limit you to any microphone in particular; the transmitter can be connected to the high-quality a presentation or directional mic of your choice You can also rely on stable digital communication anywhere in the world with its 2.4 GHz band, 100-metre range and extremely low latency of only 4 milliseconds. Finally, both transmitter and receiver continually search for the strongest two signals to ensure steady use.
