Greg Koch, nicknamed 'Gristle Man' for his gloriously rambunctious way of playing, does things with his guitar that most players can scarcely imagine. With the Fishman PRF-TEL-GK1 Greg Koch Gristle-Tone pickups, you can switch between two different voicings on-the-fly. The first is the White-Guard sound, which is reminiscent of the open, airy sound of Nashville, Bakersfield and chicken pickin', while the second voicing, the Black-Guard sound, offers much more punch with a searing sustain. Fishman has revolutionised the design of guitar picks with their Fluence series. By applying, or printing coils, like traces on a circuit board, the company cleverly sidesteps the classic downsides of conventional pickups.
