The Source Audio SA243 One Series Vertigo Tremolo is an intense, high-end stereo effects pedal loaded with three different types of tremolo: Normal, Harmonic and Bias. The first is modern rendition of the classic opto-trem from vintage Fender Blackface amps, while Harmonic clearly found inspiration in psychedelic vibrato sounds from other popular '60s Fender amps. The third setting, Bias, has in turn been based on the warm sound of old valve amps. Regardless of your favourite tonal flavour here, the waveform of the LFO can selected using the Shape control, with the options including Square, Sine, Opto and Saw Tooth. The Depth, Speed and Level pots are tremolo-pedal regulars and take care of the depth, speed and volume of the effect.

The Vertigo Tremolo comes pre-loaded with a generous bunch of usable sounds, but using the Neuro Mobile app (free for Android/iOS), you can also gain access to Source Audio's immense library of progressive tremolo patterns and hybrid modulation effects, the best part being that any of these sounds can directly stored in the stompbox. Next to a staggering amount of sounds, the Neuro App offers extra parameters such as parametric EQ, wet/dry mix, tap tempo and stereo separation. Simply hook up the Source Audio SA164 Soundblox Neuro Hub (not included) using a MIDI cable, and you're free to save up to 128 presets! With more than 80 years of experience combined, the Source Audio project began. Since this company has just as much experience making analogue circuits as it does digital ones, this can be heard in every one of their pedals, each of which can be controlled via the unique Hot hand 3 Universal Wireless Effects Controller. The Hot Hand is a ring - as in, a ring that's placed on your finger - that functions as an expression pedal. This means that parameters like filter sweep, wet/dry mix or the gain of a distortion pedal can be adjusted by something as simple as a graceful hand gesture.
