Sonor's NG30 soprano glockenspiel is a great piece of melodic percussion. With its extensive tonal range, reaching from C3 to F#4 (chromatic scale), you have an octave and a half at your disposal, which means that it allows for a vast repertoire of possible songs to play. The NG30 is excellently suited for use in primary schools, but its warm, bright sound is also a common addition to many tasteful arrangements in certain styles of music.
Sonor NG30: construction
The glockenspiel is quite compact, but offers a rich sound. That is partly thanks to the beech base, to which the two rows of sound bars are attached. These bars are made of steel, and they're 2 cm wide and 2 mm thick. Its tuning is fundamental, meaning that (in this case) the length of the sound bars determines their pitch. Finally, it comes with a set of mallets. All in all, the Sonor NG30 is a versatile and carefully crafted glockenspiel.

This thing is loud!
Ive always played on little kiddy klokkenspels which are out of tune, and have limited range.
But this thing is a serious instrument. Would be nice if it came with rubber mallets also, to dampen the tone.
I gave it 4 stars because there is nowhere to put the mallets. The can slide in to the box under the plates though. but then they are a little tricky to get out. Also, it would be nice if it came in some kind of case for transporting. They are just delivered in a cardboard box which offers little protection.
