General
The fourth generation Nord Piano comes in the same iconic red housing, but with a few welcome upgrades. The Nord Piano 4 comes with a raised polyphony that reaches 120 for the standard piano sound, and gives the upright and electric pianos and harpsichords an even deeper sound. The synth-section also benefits from this welcome tweak. The control overview has also been enhanced and expanded with new controls for direct access to various programmes, while transitioning between sounds and programmes is now entirely uninterrupted by loading times, and the new split and layer functions can chop up the keyboard at up to seven points, so that independent effects can be applied per slice.
The Nord Piano 4: The Playing Feel of an Acoustic Grand
The hammer-style response of the 88 keys combined with the Triple Sensor construction of the keyboard provides the same playing feel of a concert-level grand piano, so that even playing pianissimo or fortissimo is seamlessly registered and reproduced, and to complete this authentic feel, the Piano 4 comes including a Triple Pedal, while the newly added piano filters can add contour and colour by adjusting the softness, mid or brilliance.
Memory and Effects
The newest edition of the Nord Piano has a full gigabyte of piano sounds, and 512MB of sample memory that already includes high-quality samples that can be replaced with sounds from the Piano Library or Sample Library using the free Nord Sound Manager for Mac or Windows. Every single sound from the piano to the synth comes fully supported by an extensive bank of different and endlessly tweakable effects.

I purchased a New Nord 4 Stage Piano, through Bax Music, and Im absolutely over the moon with the product!
It was despatched in super quick time (even through these uncertain times) I received it within three days even though it was shipped from overseas!

Will definitely use Bax again for anything else I need!
Topinstrument. In dit geval een B-stock, maar daar is niets aan te merken. Zeer correcte en snelle levering door Bax. Enkele vragen werden onmiddellijk en uiterst hartelijk beantwoord door de medewerkers. Erg tevreden !
Zeer goede piano, let er wel op als je deze piano koopt dat er geen ingebouwde speakers/luidsprekers ingebouwd zijn en je deze er nog moet bijkopen. Anders een top product!
Zeer mooie klanken. Mag ook wel voor het geld. De voors en tegens op een rij:

niet alle sounds zijn te layeren, alleen piano is te layeren met synth, de synths onderling niet
bij levering zit de sound library meteen helemaal vol, zodat je eerst sounds eraf moet gooien voor je er
nieuwe in kunt laden, beetje raar...
geen stofkap of afdekmateriaal aanwezig
geen lessenaar (om noten te kunnen lezen)
Maar ondanks de verrassende nadelen ben ik toch dik tevreden met deze piano. Ze hebben er bij Nord alles aan gedaan de pianobeleving zoveel als mogelijk na te bootsen. Heb zelf 18 jaar lang een akoestische piano gehad, en dit apparaat komt gewoon het dichtst in de buurt. Daar moet ik wel onmiddellijk aan toevoegen dat een set goede speakers onontbeerlijk is. Anders komen de klanken niet tot hun recht. Heb uiteindelijk gekozen voor twee actieve Focal 65 speakers, die echt alleszins goed klinken. Subwoofer niet echt nodig.
Terug naar de pianoklanken: je kunt als je niet tevreden bent over een klank naar hartelust de pianosound aanpassen. Beetje reverb doet wonderen, evenals het hoog, midden en laag iets boosten met de equalizer. Ook de soft / mid / brightmodus is nog voorhanden. Ook is de aanslaggevoeligheid in 3 stappen in te stellen. Pedaal ben ik iets minder tevreden over. Werkt iets minder direct dan bij een echte piano.
Het echte plezier zit 'm bij de Nord Piano 4 in het soundshapen. Een prachtig koor op de achtergrond van je piano is weldadig voor je oren. Ik krijg kippenvel van de geluiden die erin zitten, zo echt, zo mooi.
Ook de elektrische piano's zijn schitterend en kunnen met effecten je bloeddruk doen stijgen.
De 2600 euros zitten in de kwaliteit van de klanken, niet in het editten en synthen. Dan moet je uitwijken naar de 1400 euro duurdere Nord stage 3. Daar zit 'm ook de kneep. Verwacht dus niet de oneindige mogelijkheden van de stage 3, maar geniet van de piano en de sfeer die dit apparaat in je huis kan brengen.
Omdat ik het een misser vind dat je niet alle geluiden met elkaar kunt mixen en ook dat de effecten maar toepasbaar zijn op één layer, heb ik 4 sterren gegeven. In de toekomstige Nord Piano 5 moet dat er echt in zitten voor het geld dat je neerlegt.
Eindconclusie:
Zeer aan te raden, zeer mooie soundshapes mogelijk, maar geen akoestische pianovervanger.
Wil je meer mogelijkheden, Nord stage 3 kopen.
