It may look small, but this ART-made preamp is able to add a fat boost of up to 80dBs to your line or mic signal. At the heart of this magic little box lies a hand-selected 12AX7a valve that injects the sound with characteristic warmth. The Tube MP/C is a bit like a multi-stage rocket, where the first stage offers a +20dB switch for boosting weak input signals and less sensitive microphones. The next stage is formed by a +40dB gain pot, and the last stage made up of a output trim control, which gives you the option to tweak the degree of valve saturation to taste without overdriving the converters inside your audio interface, plus an opto compressor complete with soft knee and automatic release functionality to counter missteps. The ART Tube MP/C is perfect for stabilising vocals but also works wonders for bass guitars and acoustic guitars.
