General

This PULSAR PA set by HK Audio is a durable, reliable sound system that produces impressive audio. The PULSAR series fills the gap between the Premium Pro and the Linear 5 series by HK Audio and is engineered for musicians, bands and DJs in particular who want a good sound with plenty of output. The cabinets are all made of birch plywood with plastic extrusions to keep them looking and functioning great for as long as possible. The set is comprised of two PULSAR PL 115 FA array speakers and two PULSAR PL 118 Sub A subwoofers. Together, they produce a balanced sound with transparent trebles and tight bass tones.

The PULSAR PL 118 Sub A subwoofer

HK Audio's PULSAR PL 118 Sub A is an active subwoofer with an 18-inch woofer that's powered by a built-in 600-watt amplifier. It's a relatively shallow sub with a tuned bass reflex port that delivers tight low tones. You'll find various inputs and outputs on the rear of this subwoofer and thanks to the built-in (switchable) crossover, you can send the audio signal directly to the PULSAR PL 115 FA array speakers that are also included in this set. Finally, there are two switches available - one to set the configuration of the system for the integrated DSP, and another for the phase inversion.

The PULSAR PL 115 FA arrays

The PULSAR PL 115 FA active bi-amped array speaker is unique in that the tweeter and the 15-inch woofer both have their own amplifier, and when combined, can produce an output of 1000 watts! Together with the integrated DSP processor (time alignment from high to low, multi-band limiter) ensures a perfectly balanced sound that's transparent, but keeps the bass capacity intact at high volume levels, without affecting the mid-range.
