As they're made from naturally grown gourds, every Pearl Folkloric Shekere is a bit different, which adds authenticity to each unique instrument. These types of shekeres are often used in the Cuban 'Guiro' style of music and Pearl aims to recreate that authentic, Cuban feel. The Pearl PSK-60FC Traditional Natural Gourd Shekere Segundo, with its red and black beading, is the middle child of Pearl's Folkloric shekeres, and as such it produces a great all-round sound. Like its siblings, however, it is fitted with a fibreglass lining, which adds strength, volume and sustain to the instrument, and they all feature adjustable beaded netting around the body of the gourd. This unique instrument can be a fun addition to your percussive palette!

I bought this Pearl Shekere to learn the basic moves and grooves with and it is ideal , not to big or small and a great sound very satisfying to play .
