General
Even though this electro-acoustic tenor ukulele has been made of tried-and-trusted woods, the Flight Royal Series Nighthawk certainly isn't your average ukulele. Sumptuously styled, this stage-worthy uke dons a dark stain finish, has beautiful blue binding and a matching cutaway, and bears a spruce soundboard supported by a mahogany body and neck. So you can keep it safe, Flight even include a deluxe, 20mm-padded gig bag.
The NightHawk: Broad Acoustic Range & Full Fretboard Access
Since the soundboard, back and sides have been fashioned from solid wood, the sound of the Nighthawk Tenor has a naturally enhanced sustain. Flight have mounted an active C1U double pickup under the bone saddle so you can easily link up the fitted end-pin jack with an acoustic amp and take to the stage, where your hands are backed up by a modern cutaway for unrestricted access to the highest frets.

Mijn 8e ukelele is deze Flight Nighthawk. Mijn keuze was hierop gevallen omdat deze uke alles heeft wat ik nodig heb tijdens de repetities en optreden met mijn jazz band. Allereerst het uiterlijk dat simpelweg geweldig is en gezien mag worden en de maat is ook perfect. De klank is prachtig en helder zowel bij zachte als bij wat hardere passages. Dit is overigens de eerste ukelele waarbij ik het D-akkoord goed kan pakken omdat de hals net iets breder is. Het ingebouwde element werkt uitstekend, geen bijklanken en perfect geluid uit de speaker/pa. Ik heb er wel meteen een lage G snaar op gezet (maar dat is mijn persoonlijke voorkeur). De levering en berichten van DHL waren weer top. Dank BAX voor weer een top aankoop.
Flight is een begrip aan het worden in Nederland. Met deze Nighthawk tenor heeft Flight een mooie, helder klinkende ukelele gebouwd. De Worth snaren passen perfect bij deze uke en geven warmte aan de klank. Hij ziet er mooi uit, glanzend zwarte zijkanten en achterkant en een mooie bruin/zwarte voorkant, waarop je de houtnerf nog mooi ziet. De tas is mooi stevig gevoerd met padding, waardoor het heel eenvoudig is om de uke overal mee naartoe te nemen.

Wow. Simply stunning and different. The sound/tone is amazing and the 38mm nut width is comfortable, as this was my biggest worry before purchase. The only extra I could put on my wishlist for this instrument would be a comfort armrest.
