If you love the sound of a double bass but you haven't got the space or the money for it, then Gold Tone may be able to help you out. Their M-BASS25/FL is a fretless bass guitar with a 25-inch scale length, fully built using nato and finished with specially-developed polymer strings from Aquila that can be tuned using the internal chromatic tuner. This Microbass model is able to produce the lows of a double bass and can be effortlessly amplified thanks to a built-in piezo pickup with active EQ. Since you'll want to keep yours safe, Gold Tone throw in a free gig bag.

Wat een ontzettend leuk basje. Klinkt goed en zingt lekker fretloos. Het zou helemaal perfect zijn geweest al alle snaren goed waren maar helaas, ik heb hem weer terug moeten sturen en ben in afwachting van een goed exemplaar. De klantenservice is erg behulpzaam en de retourservice zijn wel erg goed geregeld. Wordt vervolgd.

I had researched this purchase quite a bit but I was surprised at how good it played and sounded out of the box. Bax was the best price and delivered quite quickly. I'm not gigging at the moment so it hasn't been played with the band but I'm confident it will fit in - particularly with our rock n roll numbers. One word of warning is that the elastic strings do feel odd and they do stretch. So it needs a lot of string winding to keep it in tune and can quickly result in too many winds on the tuner making it harder to keep in tune. I think the solution will be to loosen off and cut the string to a shorter length before tuning back up.
