An Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp has, of course, been teamed up with a pair of Nordstrand pickups to guarantee forceful bass sound. But since this model comes mounted with a set of Big Single pups, you're getting just the right amount of definition to slice through the band mix. Besides a volume and blend pot, the output can be tweaked in detail via a three-band EQ section complete with a three-way mid-frequency switch, or the whole lot can be bypassed and the trebles can be dialled in via the passive tone pot. Polished off by an MR5S bridge, a set of Gotoh sealed and self-lubricating machine heads and a Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut, the intonation and tuning stability of this Soundgear Premium bass is in masterful hands.
