The Universal Audio SP-1 stereo set is the ideal pair of microphones for realistic stereo recordings, whether miking up drum kits or acoustic instruments. Also cut out for capturing pianos, ensembles and full choirs, these pencil microphones can be set up in an X/Y configuration using the included stereo bar and boast a natural frequency response framed by lush trebles. Both small-diaphragm condensers can also serve as spot microphones to capture an acoustic guitar. Clips and windshields included.

Hemisphere Modelling Software

Download the Hemisphere partner software and transform the SP-1 microphones into a virtual microphone collection. Paired with the software, this microphone can not only be turned into one of an array of renowned dynamic microphones and ribbon microphones but, via a proximity button, the low-end is given a boost to convincingly mimic the close-miking effect. If the sound is a little too sharp, you can simply hit an axis button to make things feel more mild and natural, as if the speaker is positioned just to one side of the microphone.
